Animated Explainer

I guided the visual direction for this animated explainer, working closely with Agne Jurkenaite and building on Ignacio Osorio’s original concept. My focus was on guiding a cohesive and immersive visual experience that supported the story of Tony and Maureen Wheeler’s journey across Asia, which later inspired the creation of the Lonely Planet guidebooks.

As Art Director, I helped shape the visual identity to reflect the spirit of cultural exploration and spiritual seeking that defined the original Hippie Trail. We combined archival imagery with bold, handmade textures and layered animations to evoke a sense of nostalgia and movement.

The design was crafted to support the personal storytelling and historical context, inviting viewers into a vibrant retelling of a journey that radically changed how people experience travel.
